Goddess Nut/Hathor CDC

Hey, everyone! This will be my first time submitting to the Character Design Challenge (I love Egyptian mythology!) and I want it to be really good. She's a mixture of Nut and Hathor, as the two are very similar. Anyway, these are my main concerns;
1. the stars- I'm not sure if it'll click that the flat pattern is meant to represent the stars on the tomb ceilings and also ancient Egyptian artwork.
2. the water- This is my first time drawing water like this. help. 

I'd really appreciate the constructive criticism.

EDIT: Fixed this up a bit. Someone commissioned me to draw another goddess to accompany this one, as a tattoo. I'm super excited about it. Hopefully I can post the complete image here soon.
